Strong disagree here - fraud is not a "more education" problem, that is a criminal conduct problem. FTX was actively lying about their activities in public; they told people things (segregated funds, we don't lend out customer funds, etc.) that were simply not true.

No amount of education fixes that. Education is never, itself, a solution to issues of centralized trust because, by definition, there is a severe information asymmetry problem.
